A PART OF THE WHOLE opens with the southern groove of I TRIED, one of ten original tunes that share that timeless quality drawn from Buddy’s adventures in Memphis and New Orleans and his journeys through the great state of Mississippi traveling between the two. 

The two cover tunes Professor Longhair’s HER MIND IS GONE, which Buddy learned from “Fess” having opened for him at Tipitinas, and the classic ONE MEATBALL are musical treasures.
